Pakistan emerged victorious against Bangladesh in a crucial World Cup match on Tuesday. With a seven-wicket win, Pakistan kept their hopes alive for a spot in the semi-finals. The Bangladeshi team was dismissed for a mere 204 runs, thanks to an exceptional performance by Pakistan’s fast bowlers. Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Wasim Jr. collectively took eight wickets. Pakistan successfully chased down the target in just 32.3 overs, fueled by impressive innings from Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique, who forged a 128-run partnership. Earlier, Shaheen finished with figures of 3-23, supported by Mohammad Wasim’s 3-31. Haris Rauf took 2-36 as Bangladesh struggled on the dry and slow pitch. Bangladesh, winning the toss and electing to bat, managed to reach the 200-mark thanks to notable contributions from Mahmudullah, Liton Das, and skipper Shakib Al Hasan. Shaheen Shah Afridi achieved a significant milestone, reaching 100 wickets in his 51st one-day international match. Pakistan made three changes to their lineup compared to their previous match against South Africa, bringing in Fakhar Zaman, Usama Mir, and Agha Salman. Bangladesh also made a change, substituting Mahedi Hasan with Towhid Hridoy.
