Lahore: The Punjab Assembly has unanimously approved a resolution to declare Zulfikar Bhutto as a government martyr and national hero. According to Express News, the decision to present a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the hanging of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was made by People’s Party parliamentary leader Ali Hyder Gilani. The resolution stated that Bhutto’s trial was not transparent, a fact accepted by the Supreme Court, and therefore Zulfikar Ali Bhutto should be declared a government martyr and national and democratic hero. The assembly agreed to the resolution in agreement.
