“PM Kakar to Begin 2-Day Visit to Kuwait Following Trip to UAE” – Pakistan

After concluding his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the Caretaker Prime Minister, is set to begin a two-day visit to Kuwait today. According to Radio Pakistan, Kakar will meet with Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Jaber Al Sabah and the Kuwait PM Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah. The purpose of his visit is to sign various memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the areas of manpower, information technology, mineral exploration, food security, energy, and defense. This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.

During his time in the UAE, PM Kakar also paid a visit to a landmark in Abu Dhabi that honors the sacrifices made by the country’s national heroes. He also visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, where he learned about the mosque’s message of coexistence, tolerance, and openness to other cultures.

Additionally, Pakistan and the UAE signed MoUs related to investment cooperation that will result in multi-billion dollars of funding from the UAE. PM Kakar and Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation. The MoUs cover investment and cooperation in energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, minerals, and banking and financial services. PM Kakar hailed the signing of the MoUs as a historic event that will usher in a new era of Pak-UAE economic partnership.
