The International Monetary Fund (IMF) executive board is set to convene on January 11 to discuss final approval for disbursing the next $700 million tranche from its current loan program with Pakistan. The board will be reviewing the first review of Pakistan under the SBA on January 11, 2024. The $3 billion IMF program is scheduled to conclude in the second week of April 2024, with $1.8 billion remaining undispersed. The IMF previously released the first tranche of $1.2 billion in July. Following a staff-level agreement in November, the IMF is poised to unlock $700 million in funding for Pakistan, with the decision on the remaining $1.1 billion disbursement to be made after the next review of the bailout package.
