The selection of the new Prime Minister will take place on Sunday, 3rd March. According to the Assembly Secretariat, nomination papers for the position of Prime Minister will be collected by Saturday, 2nd March at 2 pm. Scrutiny of the papers will be done at 3 pm on the same day, after which the list will be released and the new leader of the house will be elected on Sunday, 3rd March.
Shahbaz Sharif will be the candidate from the Muslim League N and allied parties, while Omar Ayub Khan will be in the field from the Sunni Ittehad Council.
