MQM announces support for Asif Zardari in Pakistan’s presidential election

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party and Muslim League-N have expressed their support for Asif Zardari of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
After negotiations with Pakistan Peoples Party and Muslim League-N, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also announced their decision to vote for Asif Zardari for president.
Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with a delegation including Yousaf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Khurshid Shah, Khwaja Saad Rafique, and Aijaz Nizam Tarar, met with leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and others last night.
The delegation of allied parties requested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to vote for Asif Zardari for president, and after hearing their concerns and reaching a consensus, it was confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would support Asif Zardari.
During this occasion, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that they would elect Asif Zardari as president with a strong majority and work together to solve the issues in Karachi.
Prior to this, leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf also met with the Prime Minister at the Musharraf’s event, where Shahbaz Sharif also requested him to vote for Asif Zardari. Asif Ali Zardari will host an Iftar dinner today in honor of the members of allied parties.
