PTI leader Omer Ayub announced on Tuesday that Imran Khan had nominated Amir Dogar for the position of National Assembly speaker and Junaid Khan for the role of deputy speaker. The decision was made after Ayub and other party members met with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail. Dogar, who previously served as the chief whip in the NA during the PTI government, won the February 8 general elections from Multan’s NA-149 constituency and has been appointed as the PTI chief whip once again. Junaid Khan, who emerged victorious from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district, was praised by Ayub for his loyalty to the party. Ayub also announced that the PTI would hold peaceful protests across the country on Saturday to protest against alleged rigging in the elections. Asad Qaiser, another PTI leader, stated that the party will continue to fight for free and fair elections and urged the public to join in the peaceful protest on Saturday.
