PTI leader and former special assistant to the prime minister Mirza Shahzad Akbar said he was attacked at his England home, with “acidic liquid” being thrown at him. He assured the public that his family was safe and he sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Akbar, who left Pakistan after Imran Khan was ousted, is a central figure in the Al Qadir Trust case against the PTI chief. In the case, he is accused of making a secret deal with real estate tycoon Malik Riaz. The government has requested five documents from Akbar, including the original deed of confidentiality signed by him.
