Deputy Director Cyber Crime Wing, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Mahmood ul Hassan revealed in a seminar titled “Inappropriate Content: Misuse of Social Media” held at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium under the supervision of the student affairs advisor at the University of Karachi.

He stated that sharing pornographic material on a daily basis will bring shame to the nation. He pointed out that Pakistan is on the list of countries with the highest viewership of pornographic sites, and cases of child pornography are also being reported on a daily basis. Hassan emphasized that the daily sharing of statistics related to the sharing of child pornography will bring shame to the entire nation.

Additionally, he mentioned that individuals who view pornographic websites are often manipulated to share obscene material, leading to further exploitation. He highlighted that 344 individuals have been arrested in Pakistan for uploading and sharing vulgar material, out of which one was non-Muslim and the rest were Muslim, aged between 15 and 35. Seven individuals were sentenced to death last year for uploading and sharing such material, and the remaining 242 cases that are in the final stages, will result in further individuals being sentenced to death within the next one to two years. He stressed that Section 295-C carries the death penalty, and individuals involved in such activities are ruining their worldly and spiritual lives.
