Brazilian officials have vowed to launch an investigation into the second plane crash to occur in the country within a span of two months. The tragic incident took place in the northwestern state of Acre, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 individuals, including an infant. The Acre state government confirmed that the crashed aircraft was a single-engine Cessna Caravan near the Rio Branco airport. All ten passengers, consisting of nine adults and one infant, alongside the pilot and co-pilot, perished at the scene. The nationalities of the passengers remain unknown. Reports indicate that the plane was en route to Envira, a small town in the nearby Amazonas state and was operated by local company ART Taxi Aereo. As per local media, the impact caused the plane to catch fire, resulting in a forest fire in a remote region near the borders of Peru and Bolivia. This marks the second incident of its kind in less than two months, as a separate crash claimed the lives of 14 individuals, including Brazilian tourists, in September. Officials stated that the previous crash occurred while the aircraft was approaching the tourist town of Barcelos during heavy rain and poor visibility.
