The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Azam Khan passed away on Saturday at the age of 89. He was admitted to the intensive care unit after falling ill a day before his passing. Azam Khan had taken oath as the KP chief minister in January of that year. The provincial cabinet in KP stood “automatically dissolved” with the chief minister’s death, and the governor will assume authority until a new chief minister is elected. He was remembered by many political leaders as a dedicated and honest civil servant.
