Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who is also the wife of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, cannot contain her excitement after her husband scored a century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
In a rain-interrupted Super Four clash, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, both playing as batsmen, scored unbeaten centuries, leading India to a resounding 228-run victory over Pakistan. Anushka Sharma and fellow Bollywood actor Athiya Shetty, who are married to the cricketers, couldn’t help but shower praise on their husbands’ exceptional performances.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Anushka Sharma congratulated Kohli for his unbeaten 122 runs. She shared a picture of the television screen showing Kohli’s feat and wrote, “Super knock, super guy!!” along with red heart and clapping emojis. The acclaimed actress also extended her congratulations to Rahul.
Meanwhile, Athiya Shetty dedicated her latest social media post to her husband, KL Rahul. In the caption of a picture and video gallery, she wrote, “Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise… You are everything, I love you,” along with a ‘No. 1’ hashtag.
Regarding the highly anticipated Asia Cup clash between arch-rivals, India resumed their innings at 147-2 on the reserve day after rain disrupted play on Sunday. Virat Kohli (122) and KL Rahul (111) put together an impressive partnership of 233 runs, helping India reach a total of 356-2. India’s bowlers then successfully defended the total by bowling out Pakistan for 128 runs in the 50-over contest held in Colombo. India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav also impressed with figures of 5-25.
