The 2024 Pakistan Super League is set to kick off tonight at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United. Here’s a look at each of the six teams and their strengths.

Islamabad United:
With Alex Hales and Colin Munro leading their batting lineup, Islamabad United has immense firepower. However, their bowling unit lacks depth.

Multan Sultans:
Multan Sultans’ strength lies in their bowling, especially their pace. They have a strong lineup of bowlers and have also signed solid batters for the upcoming season.

Karachi Kings:
Despite a revamped side, Karachi Kings are still looking for more aggression and firepower. The absence of players like James Vince and Tabraiz Shamsi will make it challenging for them.

Lahore Qalandars:
With Shaheen Shah Afridi leading their bowling unit, Lahore Qalandars have become a formidable team. They also possess a stable batting lineup with players like Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique.

Peshawar Zalmi:
Peshawar Zalmi boasts an ideal set of T20 batters, led by Babar Azam, but their bowling unit is considered the weakest in the league.

Quetta Gladiators:
Under new captaincy, Quetta Gladiators have a balanced squad with no obvious weaknesses in any department. Their spin bowling might be their one weak area.
