Afghanistan has announced the appointment of former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja as the team mentor for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) made the official announcement, stating, “Former Indian Captain and middle-order batsman Ajay Jadeja has been appointed as the mentor of the Afghanistan National Cricket Team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.”

Ajay Jadeja, who represented India in 322 matches across Test and One-Day International formats, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He scored 5,935 international runs and also took 20 wickets.
As Afghanistan prepares for its third appearance in the Cricket World Cup, their campaign will commence on October 7th with a match against Bangladesh. They will face hosts India and defending champions England on October 11th and 15th, respectively.

Afghanistan’s schedule also includes matches against New Zealand on October 18th, Pakistan on October 23rd, Sri Lanka on October 30th, and the Netherlands on November 3rd. They will play against Australia and South Africa on November 7th and 10th, respectively.
