Accused attempting to take over private land in Korangi transferred to judicial remand

Karachi: Judicial Magistrate East has remanded 8 suspects allegedly linked to the land grabbing mafia in custody and ordered the police to complete the investigation and submit the charges in court.

According to reports, on January 6th, the suspects harassed and threatened the plaintiffs, illegally occupied 17 acres of private land, and broke down the walls of the properties. When the police responded to the complaint, they apprehended 8 suspects while 5 others managed to escape.

The police filed an FIR against the suspects under sections 147, 148, 506, 504, 427, 448, and 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

On Sunday, A.S.I. Salahuddin from the Zaman Town police station presented the 8 suspects in court and requested legal action against them. The court remanded all the suspects to judicial custody and ordered the investigating officer to complete the investigation and submit the charges in court.
