Geneva: A United Nations report has revealed that more than 10,000 women have been killed in Israeli bombings in Gaza, which accounts for a third of the total casualties.

According to global news agencies, the report issued by the United Nations Women stated that out of the innocent women killed in Gaza, 6,000 were mothers, leaving behind 19,000 orphaned children.

The United Nations report further stated that women who survived the Israeli bombings and military attacks have either become widowed or homeless, facing severe poverty especially with their children.

Report also mentions that although women are less likely to be involved in wars, the most damage is done to women. Some lost their lives, others lost their husbands, and some lost their homes. Peaceful abodes were destroyed.

It should be noted that as of October 7, the number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli bombings in Gaza has reached 33,970, with more than 76,000 injured. Half of the casualties are women and children.
