The Parliamentary Board of the Pakistan People’s Party has finalized the names of candidates for the upcoming general elections in Sindh. According to sources, under the leadership of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Parliamentary Board has finalised its candidates for national and provincial seats in Sindh. Selection of candidates for certain regions like Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Sanghar, and Shikarpur will occur later.

The Parliamentary Board has selected 61 candidates for the National Assembly and 130 candidates for the Provincial Assembly in Sindh. After the announcement of the election schedule, the PPP will officially announce its candidates. It is reported that former Sindh Chief Minister and close associate of Benazir Bhutto, Syed Aftab Shahban Mirani, is retiring from electoral politics. Asad Ali Shah, son of Qaim Ali Shah, has submitted a request for a provincial seat from Khairpur.

The party leaders have advised Qaim Ali Shah’s son to retire from active electoral politics and submit a request for the Senate with the permission of the party leadership. Recently, Sardar Ali Gohar Mehar from Ghotki, Anwar Khan Dharejo from Larkana, and Meher Khan from Shikarpur have been given tickets by joining the PPP. For the upcoming general elections, the PPP will introduce several new faces for the National and Provincial Assemblies. It is also reported that the PPP Parliamentary Board has decided to give tickets to Mukhtiar and Fakhar Uzaman from Mithi and Muhammad Khan Tando from Tando.

The final decision to give tickets to Shariar Shar and Islamuddin Abro from the PTI to the PPP has not been made. In the coming days, the PPP Parliamentary Board will also decide on candidates from Mirpur Khas, Dadu, Hyderabad, Badin, and other cities. The selection of candidates for Dadiyan from Karachi will be made after consultation with Asif Zardari. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will preside over the video conference of the Parliamentary Board due to his visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
