Islamabad: The Election Commission has requested the Chief Election Commissioner of PTI to appear before the commission in relation to the intra-party elections and has stated that PTI did not fulfill the legal requirements in the elections.
According to Express News, the Election Commission has raised questions on PTI’s intra-party elections and has requested the Chief Election Commissioner of PTI to appear personally.
The Election Commission has also sent a notice to Niaz Ali Niazi regarding the PTI intra-party elections case, in which he has been directed to appear before the Election Commission on December 18 at 10 am.
The notice states that PTI’s intra-party elections do not comply with the Party Constitution Rules 2020 and the Election Act of 2017. Under the Election Rules of 2017, the commission issues a certificate only after all legal requirements for the conduct of intra-party elections are fulfilled.
