Comparing the Houthi threat to world order with the war on Gaza: An analysis of the Israel-Palestine conflict

The war in Gaza is not seen as a major threat to world peace and international security, despite its intensity, cruelty, and civilian casualties. The conflict is mainly contained within the Gaza Strip, and neighboring countries are showing restraint and are unlikely to become involved in the fighting. On an economic level, the war in Gaza itself does not significantly impact the global economy. However, a small but determined group, the Houthis in Yemen, threaten shipping through the strategic Bab el-Mandeb, which could result in higher oil prices and impact international trade. The international community has been cautious in their response to the Houthis, and there are concerns about potential escalation and its global impact. If the conflict were to escalate through attacks on neutral ships, it would be both paradoxical and cynical, given the suffering and destruction already occurring in the region.
