Asif Ali Zardari, former president, expressed his view that Balochistan is the “heart of Pakistan” during a rally in Quetta to commemorate the 56th anniversary of the party’s foundation. He lamented that this view is not shared by Islamabad or the other provinces. Zardari emphasized the importance of winning over the heart of Balochistan in order to fix Pakistan. He also stressed the need to address the prevalent grief in the province and ensure access to water for the people. Zardari also spoke about his son, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, and the need for a new ideology and politics in the country. Bilawal also expressed his commitment to cater to the needs of the common man and criticized the PML-N for failing to address economic challenges. He voiced his hope that the next premier and chief minister of Balochistan would be from the PPP.
