Sohail Hashmi, the son of a retired police officer, was fatally shot by robbers in Orangi Town, Karachi. Despite complying with the robbers’ demands and handing over his valuables, Sohail was shot, possibly due to the robbers discovering a police inspector card in his wallet. The police later revealed that the card was forged, leading the robbers to believe he was a threat.

In a separate incident on January 15, a matriculation student named Muzammil was killed by street criminals in Moach Goth, Karachi. Muzammil was shot after refusing to give his mobile phone to the robbers.
