In the match being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Australian openers failed to give the team a good start, with opener Trios Head scoring 11 runs and David Warner getting out after scoring 15 runs. Steve Smith scored 45 runs, while Marnus Labuschagne scored 71, Josh Inglis scored 3, and Cameron Green scored 47 runs before being dismissed. Marcus Stoinis contributed 23 runs to the total.

For England, Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid took 2 wickets each, while Mark Wood and David Willey took one wicket each.
