Most ICC Full Member countries, including the Associate countries, have announced their squads for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in America and the West Indies next month. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet finalized its possible 15-member squad for the World Cup.

According to media reports, the delay in announcing the World Cup squad is due to concerns about the fitness of some players.

A selector from the national team has said, “Although many unfit players have started training, their match fitness is being evaluated to see if they are available to play at the international level.”

Before the World Cup, we have 7 T20 international matches, in which we want to give some players the opportunity to test themselves against Ireland and some against England. Therefore, we have decided to delay the announcement of the final World Cup squad, and we will announce the final squad in the third week of May.

Injured players Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, Azam Khan, and Irfan Khan Niazi have passed the fitness test.
