The US has conducted strikes on pro-Iran groups in Syria and Iraq, targeting at least 85 locations using long-range bombers directly from the US. This was done in response to a drone attack on a Jordanian army base that killed three American soldiers. Armed groups backed by Iran have been targeting the US due to its support for Israel in the conflict with Gaza. President Joe Biden has stated that these attacks are just the beginning of the US’s response. The question now is how Iran will react and if this could escalate into a wider regional conflict.
