A clash between activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan in New Karachi late on Friday night left two teenage boys injured. The police have arrested around 30 suspects from both sides in connection with the clash. Both parties have held separate press conferences, with each side blaming the other for the breakdown of law and order. The wounded teenagers were originally from South Punjab and were not associated with any party. The New Karachi police have filed an FIR against MQM workers and registered a terrorism case against them. Over 30 suspects, belonging to different political parties, have been held by the police and Rangers following the violent clash. This was the second violent clash between the two parties, with the MQM-P accusing the PPP of patronizing armed gangs and the PPP demanding a judicial inquiry into both incidents.
