During the T20 series against Pakistan, two key players of the English team, all-rounder Liam Livingstone and fast bowler Mark Wood, may be deprived of playing in some matches. According to media reports, both players are currently not fit due to injury, so it is possible that they will not participate in the initial matches of the T20 series against Pakistan.

Captain Jos Buttler confirmed in a press conference on Tuesday that Liam Livingstone and Wood will not be available for the first T20 international.

In the IPL, Liam Livingstone had suffered a knee injury, while Mark Wood is recovering from a left knee niggle in the series against India.

On the other hand, English media had reported a few days ago that captain Jos Buttler’s wife Louise is unwell and they are expecting their third child, which makes the player’s participation in the initial matches uncertain.

In Buttler’s absence, English all-rounder Moeen Ali will be the vice-captain while wicketkeeper duties will be handed over to Phil Salt in Buttler’s absence.

It should be noted that the first T20 match between Pakistan and England was abandoned due to rain yesterday.
