Jahangir Khan Tareen, the patron-in-chief of the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), declared his commitment to bringing about a ‘Naya Pakistan’ during his speech at a workers’ convention in Taxila. Former PTI leader and federal minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan also formally joined the party at the same event. Tareen emphasized the need to take Pakistan beyond its potential and work with good intentions to prioritize the people’s well-being. He also commented on the strong relationship between him and Sarwar, likening it to that of brothers. Tareen highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation among political parties and laid out his vision for the IPP to set new traditions and work for the benefit of the people. He thanked the workers for their support and emphasized their role in spreading the party’s message across the country. The IPP, led by Tareen, was launched in June and has made various pledges for the upcoming February 8 polls, including ensuring a minimum wage for workers, offering subsidies on electricity bills, and prioritizing relief for the poor and needy classes of the country.
