Former Australian cricketer and national team mentor Matthew Hayden has also excluded Pakistan from his top four teams for the T20 World Cup 2024.
In an interview with Star Sports, former cricketer Matthew Hayden predicted his semi-final teams for the T20 World Cup, saying he believes that India, England, Australia, and South Africa could be the top four teams.
Having provided his services as a mentor for the Pakistani team in the T20 World Cup 2022, Hayden expressed confidence in the Green Shirts for the mega event, saying that Pakistan’s team is a dark horse.
Hayden highlighted that the combination of Shahin Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah could prove to be a strong fast bowling unit, while the return of Amir Haris and Imad strengthens their squad.
He also mentioned that Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman are the backbone of the batting line-up, and if their fielding remains notable, Pakistan can certainly be included in the top four.
It should be noted that the national team is currently in London for the T20 series against England before heading to the USA directly from England to participate in the mega event on May 1st.
