The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has successfully recovered Rs 5.5 billion as a result of its crackdown against gas theft. This initiative aimed at curbing gas theft has proven to be highly effective.

According to a detailed report released by the SSGC, more than Rs 1366 million cubic feet of gas was recovered from industries. This achievement was made possible through 849 raids conducted on various industries, leading to the registration of 288 FIRs.

Prior to this, the SSGC also announced a temporary suspension of gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh for 24 hours on September 10. This suspension was necessary to meet the demands of domestic consumers due to short supply of gas in the SSGCL system. The gas supply to general industry and captive power was also temporarily suspended for 24 hours on that day.

The SSGC’s efforts in combating gas theft have not only resulted in significant financial recovery but have also ensured a more equitable distribution of gas resources. By addressing gas theft, the company has been able to improve the availability of gas for domestic consumers and maintain the integrity of the gas supply system.

Going forward, the SSGC remains committed to its mission of delivering reliable and affordable gas services to its consumers. It will continue to take strict actions against any form of gas theft to protect the interests of both the company and its customers.
