Islamabad: President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Shahbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for contacting them to announce support for the federal government.
In a statement issued on the social media website, Shahbaz Sharif said, “Former President and Co-Chairman of the People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman of the People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had a telephone conversation.”
They said that they thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from their side for announcing their support for the Muslim League (N), hoping that together, they will be successful in getting Pakistan out of all political and economic crises.
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had told the media in Islamabad after the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting of PPP that in view of the current political situation in the country, his party will cooperate with the Muslim League (N) on the federal government and other important issues but will not take ministries.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said that PPP will field its candidates for the presidency, the chairman of the Senate, and the speaker of the National Assembly, and it is their desire that Asif Ali Zardari become the President of the country.
