In a recent Instagram post, former actor Saira Banu revealed the first person from the film industry who arrived when her husband, the legendary actor Dilip Kumar, passed away in 2021.
As Banu continues to cherish memories from Kumar’s illustrious life on her Instagram handle, she dedicated her latest post to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, who was the first to arrive when Kumar took his last breath in July 2021.
In the post, Banu shared a picture and video gallery from the time when Khan visited the elderly couple to get a poster of the classic film “Mughal-e-Azam” signed for his personal collection. She reminisced, “The first time I saw Shahrukh was when many stars had met for a function… I noticed that he looked so much like my Shahenshah Dilip Sahib… I said if my son had been there, he would have been just like him.”
Banu further expressed her admiration for Shahrukh Khan, describing him as a remarkable actor and an incredibly sweet, well-mannered, and considerate individual. She also mentioned that Khan would frequently grace them with his presence at various functions hosted at their house.
On July 7th, when Dilip Sahib slipped into a deep slumber, unresponsive to Banu’s voice, leaving her burdened with the ache of his absence, Shahrukh Khan emerged as a beacon of solace for her.
Recalling that moment, Banu shared, “In that moment, his affection for the ‘Kohinoor of Hindustan,’ Dilip Sahib, shone brightly as he was among the very first to offer his comforting presence in the face of adversity.”
It is worth mentioning that the Indian cinema legend, Dilip Kumar, passed away in 2021 at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness.
On the second death anniversary of Dilip Kumar earlier this year, his wife, Saira Banu, made her Instagram debut.
