The release of the long-awaited sci-fi Hollywood film ‘Mickey 17‘, starring A-listers Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo in leading roles, has been postponed. The film – written, directed and produced by South Korean director Bong Joon Ho, was originally set for worldwide release on March 29, 2024.

However, a report by the US news agency Variety revealed that the release has been pushed back to January 31, 2025. The delay will allow the film to be released on IMAX, a format that was previously unavailable due to other films taking precedence.

January is typically considered a slow month for Hollywood releases, making it an unconventional choice for a film premiere. This will be Bong Joon Ho’s first release since 2019’s ‘Parasite’. The plot of ‘Mickey 17‘ has been kept under wraps, but the film features a star-studded cast including Mark Ruffalo, Robert Pattinson, Toni Collette, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie.
