In a significant operation against the smuggling mafia in the border areas of Sindh and Balochistan, the Rangers have successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle Iranian diesel. The operation took place at the Band Murad Check post where four suspected trucks carrying 9000 liters of Iranian diesel were apprehended and the smugglers were arrested.

The crackdown on illegal hydrants and smuggling was initiated by Sindh Rangers following special instructions from the military high-ups. The paramilitary troops have been authorized to take action against not only the smuggling mafia but also illegal Afghan citizens.

As part of the government’s efforts to combat smuggling, the caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, recently directed the custom authorities to establish a monitoring system at irregular border crossings to prevent smuggling activities in the country. This direction came during a meeting where the ministry of commerce provided a detailed briefing, discussing various measures to discourage smuggling and promote legal trade channels within the country.

The successful operation conducted by the Rangers demonstrates their commitment to maintaining law and order in the border areas and preventing illegal activities, such as smuggling. Such actions play a crucial role in safeguarding the economy and national security of the country.
