Sher Afzal Marwat, senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, claimed that he was attempted to be abducted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police near Chakdara while on his way to the Bajour convention. He stated that more than 300 policemen tried to abduct him, but he managed to escape with the help of PTI workers who blocked the road. He also appealed to the party workers and the public to participate in the convention and assured that they will not surrender and will continue efforts for the betterment of Pakistan. There were previous claims that he had been arrested by the police, but he stated that he will definitely be participating in the convention and urged everyone to participate as well. He also assured that he is in a safe place and will address the convention. He released a video message confirming his safety.
