PMD predicts continued dry winter with no significant rain expected

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the dry winter and dense foggy conditions will continue in most parts of the country this week, with limited chances of rain. The Met Office stated that dry and cold weather will persist, with no significant rain expected in the coming days. However, there may be light rain in some parts of Balochistan in the next 24 hours. The PMD also warned of dense fog in the plain areas of the country, particularly in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Sindh, and Islamabad. Additionally, the PMD’s daily forecast predicts mainly cold and dry weather in most areas, with very cold conditions in the northern parts and north Balochistan. Dense fog and smog are likely to continue in specific areas, while isolated light rain or drizzle may occur in southwestern Balochistan and coastal areas of Makran. The lowest temperatures recorded were Leh -11 C, Skardu -09, Gilgit, Gupis -06, Astore, Kalam, Kalat, and Srinagar -05 C.
