PM Kakar participates with world leaders in high-level segment at COP28 – Pakistan

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar attended the 28th United Nations climate summit in Dubai alongside world leaders. The summit opened with the adoption of a “loss and damage fund” to assist developing nations with climate-driven damages. PM Kakar is leading the Pakistani delegation at the summit and called for the immediate operationalization of the fund. He also emphasized Pakistan’s focus on transitioning to renewable energy projects and urged wealthy nations to take responsibility for contributing to the climate disaster. The Pakistani delegation includes Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Federal Minister for Climate Change Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Energy Minister Muhammad Ali.
