The prime minister stated during a press conference in Quetta that he had no intention to join any political party after the elections. This statement was made in response to the resignation of Senator Sarfaraz Bugti from the federal cabinet and his subsequent joining of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

It was reported that Bugti resigned from the cabinet in order to contest the upcoming general elections, as members of a caretaker set-up cannot participate in polls under the law. The prime minister also addressed initiatives taken by the government to reform the bureaucracy and governance structure in Balochistan province.

He mentioned chronic and complex issues in the province that needed to be resolved by appointing upright and hard-working bureaucrats. The prime minister also deputed a competent bureaucrat to ensure meritocracy and support the provincial government. He acknowledged the impact of bad governance on the province’s performance and hoped that the incoming elected government would continue the process of reforms.

The prime minister also addressed concerns about free and fair elections, stating that it was a routine matter for nationalist parties to express reservations. He reiterated the government’s resolve to hold free and fair elections and discussed efforts to allocate funds for a specific project in Balochistan.

The prime minister also mentioned plans to provide skilled training for children and resolve internet service issues in Balochistan. He confirmed that the province had been exempted from the government’s decision to curtail gas supply.
