Pakistan’s COAS Vows to Uphold Territorial Sovereignty on Kashmir Day

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir stated that any aggression or violation of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty would be met with a strong national response. His remarks were made on Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is observed to show unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle.

The people and government of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir observe Solidarity Day every year to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir and to reinforce their commitment to liberating Kashmir from Indian subjugation. General Munir laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument in Muzaffarabad and paid tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs.

According to a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS was briefed on the latest situation along the Line of Control (LOC) and expressed appreciation for the troops’ effective response to Indian ceasefire violations. He also mentioned the Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan and condemned India’s attempts to change the demography of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Meanwhile, interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed their support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and condemned India’s efforts to engineer demographic and political changes in the region.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Sherry Rehman also voiced their support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle and emphasized the need for international support in resolving the long-standing issue of Kashmir in accordance with UN resolutions.
