Anchorperson Ashfaq Ishaq has been booked by Karachi police for allegedly severely beating his wife. The official stated that the suspect beat his wife due to doubts about her character, and had fled following the registration of a first information report (FIR) against him. Efforts are underway to arrest him.
The victim, Nomaika, was examined at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and then again at Civil Hospital Karachi. The police surgeon stated that all injuries were noted and the victim was referred to consultant experts for further evaluation.
In response to the allegations, ARY News suspended Ishaq with immediate effect, stating that it had a zero tolerance policy on violence. The FIR against Ishaq includes charges of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation, and causing hurt to a person.
The complainant, Nomaika, stated that her husband beat her, resulting in serious injuries, and also forcibly took away her son. She managed to escape and demanded legal action against her husband.
