The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has withdrawn the reference against former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. The accountability court in Islamabad, headed by Judge Nasir Javed Rana, conducted a hearing on the NAB reference against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, in which the reference against all the accused, including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, was withdrawn. The court approved NAB’s request to withdraw the reference. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, along with his lawyers, appeared in court on this occasion. It is important to note that the NAB reference against Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other accused was under hearing in the court. According to sources, former IG PSP Imran ul Haq had requested NAB to not proceed with the reference. On Imran ul Haq’s request, NAB authorities decided to withdraw the reference based on merit.
