Protesters gathered in Jerusalem in what they claim is the largest anti-government rally since the conflict with Gaza in October. The crowd called for a ceasefire deal to secure the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas. They also demanded early elections and criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government for failing in its security measures during the conflict. Thousands of demonstrators in Tel Aviv also called for Netanyahu to step down, citing the government’s failures and lack of progress in resolving the conflict. Despite the growing calls for change, Netanyahu defended his actions and vowed to continue with military operations in Gaza. The protesters have vowed to continue demonstrating until their demands are met.
