Malaysia is advocating for a new search effort for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 as the 10th anniversary of its disappearance approaches. The flight, a Boeing 777 with 227 passengers and 12 crew, vanished while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014. The Malaysian government is dedicated to continuing the search for MH370, with Transport Minister Anthony Loke stating that US seabed exploration company Ocean Infinity has been invited to discuss a new search proposal. Malaysia previously engaged Ocean Infinity in 2018 to search the southern Indian Ocean without success. Now, Malaysia plans to discuss possible cooperation with Australia on resuming the search once the proposal is approved. Families of the passengers onboard, such as VPR Nathan and Jiang Hui, are hopeful for the search to continue, with Jiang calling for Malaysia to provide relatives with the latest information. Despite the challenges and expenses involved in the search, the families are realistic in their expectations and the need for communication to avoid misunderstandings.
