The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) alleged that it has recovered Rs4.1 million from the home of PTI President Parvez Elahi. The money is said to be related to a case involving illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly. However, Elahi’s lawyer disputed the claim, calling it a “bogus recovery”.

Last month, Elahi was arrested by ACE on charges of appointing someone as his principal secretary in violation of the law. This is not the first time Elahi has been arrested, as he has faced multiple arrests in various cases since June.

Today, Elahi appeared in court, where ACE’s investigating officer claimed that the money was recovered from his bedroom during a search of his residence. However, Elahi denied being taken anywhere, stating that he was in jail throughout the night.

The court approved a two-day extension of Elahi’s physical remand and ordered the authorities to ensure his appearance in court on Monday.
