K-Electric spokesperson stated that 71% of the power network is free from loadshedding, while the remaining 29% experiences loadshedding in proportion to the area’s loss profile, with a maximum duration of 10 hours a day. The spokesperson mentioned that the loadshedding regime has not significantly changed following a routine review of the company’s network of over 2,000 feeders. The latest schedule is available on the company’s website and is effective from January 01, 2024. The spokesperson also emphasized the importance of regular bill payments and reduced line losses in ensuring consistent power supply to different areas. The spokesperson further stated that the company has conducted over 24,000 drives to remove illegal wires stealing electric power and is working closely with the government and law enforcement agencies against those involved in power theft.
