The Gaza media office and Reporters Without Borders suspect that the attack on three journalists in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza was a deliberate targeting by Israeli forces. One of the journalists, Sami Shehadeh, had to undergo a foot amputation due to severe injuries sustained in the attack. Another journalist from TRT Arabi was also wounded in the incident.

TRT Director General Zahid Sobaci condemned the attack as “Israeli brutality” and criticized the Israeli army for exceeding moral, legal, and humanitarian limits. The Gaza media office also strongly condemned the ongoing targeting of journalists by Israeli forces, accusing them of deliberately trying to intimidate and silence reporters.

Reporters Without Borders condemned the attack as unprovoked and stated that there is enough evidence to suggest that the journalists were deliberately targeted. The organization called for an end to the massacre of journalists in Gaza and urged the international community to pressure Israel to stop the attacks.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed the attack in a phone call, with Erdogan vowing to stand firm against Israel’s actions. At least 70 people have been injured in Israeli attacks on the Nuseirat camp, with more than 33,600 people killed since the war began in October.
