Due to the state elections in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to reschedule 2 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to media reports, authorities have faced difficulties in providing security due to religious festivals and elections, leading to a request to reschedule 2 matches.

The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, originally scheduled for April 17, 2024 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, will now be played a day earlier on April 16, 2024.

Similarly, the match between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals, which was supposed to be hosted at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on April 16, 2024, will now be played on April 17, 2024.

It should be noted that due to the general elections, the BCCI had released the IPL fixtures in two phases, with 21 matches scheduled in the first phase and the rest to be scheduled after the elections.
