Interior Minister’s Pledge to Eliminate Terrorism and Extremism

The interim Interior Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti, has reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating terrorism and extremism from Pakistan. During a visit to the National Counter Terrorism Authority Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday, Bugti stated that the National Action Plan (NAP) would be fully implemented.

Bugti emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s national narrative against terrorism and extremism, describing it as a comprehensive guideline that should be actively promoted. He stressed that NACTA would provide guidance to all institutions by formulating actionable policies and strategies.

The Interior Minister reiterated his determination to support law enforcement agencies fully. He pledged to utilize all available resources to crush the menace of terrorism, emphasizing the federal government’s commitment to this cause.

In a separate meeting, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti declined any security protocol from the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF). He stated that the ANF’s primary focus should be the eradication of narcotics from the country, and he wished for their officials to concentrate solely on this crucial task.

During his visit to the Ministry of Narcotics Control, the Secretary briefed him on the ministry’s functioning. The caretaker minister assured officials of full support in their efforts to eliminate narcotics from Pakistan and expressed a commitment to working together.

Prior to the visit, Bugti had a brief introduction with ministry officials upon his arrival.
