Australian cricket legend Glenn McGrath recently had a unique task on his hands – removing three pythons from his home in Queensland. Known for their abundance in the Sunshine Coast region during winter, carpet pythons often find their way into houses. But McGrath, who resides in rural Queensland, decided to take matters into his own hands and deal with the snakes himself.

In a video shared on Instagram, McGrath can be seen approaching one of the snakes on the floor of his house, attempting to catch it with a mop. His wife, Sara McGrath, is also present, expressing her fear and concern for her husband’s safety. Despite her warnings, McGrath successfully grabs the snake’s tail and carefully keeps a distance from its head using the mop. Ultimately, he releases all three pythons back into the wild with the support of his wife.

It’s important to note that carpet pythons are not venomous, so McGrath was never in immediate danger during this encounter. The video garnered significant attention on Instagram, receiving over 54,000 views and earning praise for McGrath’s bravery and handling skills.

Glenn McGrath’s wife, Sara Leonardi, is his second spouse. The couple met during the 2009 IPL and tied the knot in November 2010. McGrath’s first wife, Jane Louise, sadly passed away at the age of 42 due to complications following cancer surgery in 2008.

Having achieved 563 wickets in 124 Tests and 381 wickets in 250 ODIs, McGrath retired from international cricket in 2007 at the Sydney Cricket Ground after Australia’s triumphant 5-0 victory against England in the Ashes.
