Election Commission Issues Final List of Constituency Boundaries for General Elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission has issued the final list of constituencies for the general elections. According to the Election Commission, the digital population census was completed and based on that, the final list of constituencies was issued. The list states that there will be a total of 266 general seats in the National Assembly. In Punjab, there will be 141 seats, 51 in Sindh, 45 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 16 in Balochistan. According to the Election Commission, there will be 3 National Assembly seats in Islamabad.

The list of constituencies also states that there will be 297 general seats in the Punjab Assembly, 130 in the Sindh Assembly, 115 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and 51 in the Balochistan Assembly. The new delimitation by the Election Commission has resulted in some changes, with Sindh’s Assembly seats being reallocated and one seat being reduced in Sanghar. Similarly, there has been an increase in one seat for Karachi South in the National Assembly and an increase in seats for Malir, Karachi East, and Karachi Central in the provincial assemblies.

The notification issued by the Election Commission states that Khairpur, Sanghar, and Thatta have each had one seat reduced in their provincial assemblies, while Mirpur, Karachi East, and Karachi Central have each had an additional seat added.
