The nomination papers can be filed from Dec 20-22, according to the election schedule. The filing time is from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The nomination fees are Rs 30,000 for National Assembly candidates and Rs 20,000 for provincial assemblies’ candidates, as stated by the ECP. Candidates can pay the fees in cash or deposit it in a bank branch.
The guidelines require the candidate to submit their income tax returns for three years along with the nomination papers. They also need to annex copies of their full passport. The candidate must be at least 25 years old on the last date of submitting the nomination papers, as per ECP.
For National Assembly seats, the candidate must be a voter of any place within Pakistan. For provincial assembly seats, the candidate must be a native of the concerned province, as announced by the ECP. Women candidates for reserved seats in the National Assembly must be enlisted as voters in the concerned province.
Furthermore, the proposer and endorser of a candidate for general seats must be voters in the concerned constituency, according to the ECP. The general elections in Pakistan are scheduled to be held on Feb 08.
